Fifel goes West...Sanjaya goes Southwest(ish)

Last night was Latin night on American Idol. Surprisingly, no one broke out Ricky Martin or Shakira. What’s up with that? There was a lot of Gloria Estefan and Santana. No one attempted J.Lo, but that’s probably a good thing. All in all, J.Lo (apologies, it’s now only Jennifer) Jennifer is actually a really cool chick. Gosh it’s hard to call her Jennifer. I’m sticking with J.Lo for now – sorry J.Lo. It’s like when P. Diddy wanted us to start calling him just Diddy, but worse. Okay, back to Idol…so it was a good show but not as good as it could have been. The week stayed week and the strong were just good…

Melinda Mom: Melinda has a super strong voice but in general she just has an irritating personality. Simon said he didn’t like her performance. He knows that if she wins her sales will amount to Fantasia and Rueben Studdard’s sales. Going with someone a little more pop star’esk will bring in the big money. Time for her to go join Jennifer Hudson on Broadway and leave American Idol up to the pop stars.

Lakisha the Great: Lakisha is in the same boat with Melinda. She had a really strong voice last night but her attempt at adding some dance moves fell short. Only difference between Lakisha and Melinda (besides her huge boobs) is that she is super sweet.

Mini-Justin Timberlake: I always love Chris but I’m starting to wonder if his voice is strong enough to make it. He, of course, always gets compared to Blake because they are in the same boat, but Blake’s singing is a little bit more effortless. Don’t get me wrong I still heart Chris very much. I mean he is Justin Timberlake’s twin and all. On the singing scale last night he was a 7 and on the hot entertaining scale he was a 10.

Phil Baldy: I finally put my finger on it…when Phil wears those goofy hats he looks like Fifel from An American Tail. You know, the oversized hat hanging over one ear. Anyway, he did an okay job and is still barely hanging on by a thread.

Hot Haley: Haley is goin’ for it. Last week she broke out her boobs and this week she broke out her legs. She could barley get the words out because she was panting so hard from running around and shaking her ass. Not to knock her though because she does look really good. Haley’s hanging on by a thread with Phil except her thread is more like a thick dancing pole.

Jordin Who: I always seem to forget about Jordin. I admit she's getting WAY better but she still isn't that memorable. Last night she sang Gloria Estefan and did an okay job. Simon said she isn't really progressing. She's only 17 so you gotta give her some cred. When she stands by Ryan she looks like she could bench press him (but so could just about anyone).

Beat Box Blake: Blake is just cool. He was super smooth last night and the judges loved it. The hat was a tad on the cheap side but we’ll let that slide. His dance moves and singing were effortless and he just seems to keep getting better.

Sanjaya Stern: Sanjaya went for the greasy Latin mop look thing last night. He had a penciled in mustache and greasy curls. He looked like Marc Anthony with a bad wig. Loved it! He sang his song all in Spanish. It wasn’t good, it wasn’t bad, it was just pure entertainment.

Im sorry but Lakisha looked liked, and I am quoting Gypsy, "a giant lava lamp". Keep the moves but cover up.

Agreed. Lakisha did look like a red 1989 Spencer's Gifts bubbling lava lamp.
